NIIMBOT M2 Thermal Transfer Label Printer — 300 dpi, 20–50 mm Labels, Fade-Resistant

The NIIMBOT M2 is a Bluetooth thermal-transfer label printer that produces long-lasting, waterproof, chemical- and temperature-resistant labels for office, lab, retail, and outdoor use.

Designed for professionals who need durable, readable identification, the M2 uses thermal transfer technology (not direct thermal) to print crisp 300 dpi text, barcodes, and graphics on 20–50 mm tapes. Its printed labels resist fading, water, oil, scratches, and extreme temperatures from -4°F to 248°F, giving you stable identification that can be stored for years. The M2 pairs with smartphones and PCs, includes a rich template library in the NIIMBOT app, and supports automatic label recognition and adaptive print density to simplify setup.

How does the M2 keep labels readable longer than standard thermal printers?

The M2 uses thermal transfer technology, which transfers ink from a ribbon onto label stock, instead of heating special thermal paper. That ribbon-based process yields prints that tolerate moisture, oils, abrasion, chemicals, and wide temperature ranges, extending label life to roughly 8–10 years under normal conditions.

• Thermal transfer ribbons produce stable, fade-resistant prints.
• Rated for -4°F to 248°F for indoor and outdoor use.
• Resistant to water, oil, scratches, and many chemicals.
• Recommended M2-series label rolls for guaranteed compatibility.

What print quality and label sizes can I expect from the M2?

The M2 prints at an upgraded 300 dpi resolution for clear text, icons, logos, and barcodes. It accepts label widths from 20 mm to 50 mm, with an effective printable width of 48 mm, and ships with a 50 x 30 mm roll (230 labels) to get you started.

• High-resolution 300 dpi prints for sharp fonts and barcodes.
• Accepts 20–50 mm label widths; effective printable width 48 mm.
• Includes one 50 x 30 mm (2 x 1.18 inch) roll, 230 labels per roll.
• Only compatible with NIIMBOT M2 thermal transfer labels (do not use standard thermal labels).

How do I connect and design labels with the M2?

The M2 connects via Bluetooth to iOS and Android devices (up to ten phones simultaneously — typically 3 iOS + 7 Android) and supports PC connection via USB with a downloadable driver. The NIIMBOT app offers templates for text, icons, tables, barcodes, QR codes, images, time stamps, Excel import, scan-to-label, and voice recognition to speed label creation.

• Bluetooth pairing with smartphones; multi-device connections supported.
• PC compatibility via USB driver available on NIIMBOT website.
• Built-in app templates and features for quick label design.
• Six months of NIIMBOT App VIP access included with the M2.

Why does the M2 make noise during printing and what affects it?

Noise comes from the mechanical contact between the ink ribbon and label material during thermal transfer printing. Print content and volume influence audible output — complex graphics or continuous high-volume runs require more mechanical work and can sound louder than single-line text prints.

• Sound is primarily mechanical from ribbon and label contact.
• High ink-coverage designs and long print jobs increase noise.
• Typical single-label prints are quieter than continuous runs.
