NOCO GENIUS5 5A Smart Battery Charger 6V/12V — Automatic Maintainer & Desulfator with Temp Compensation

The NOCO GENIUS5 is a compact 5‑amp smart charger that safely charges, maintains, and restores 6V and 12V lead‑acid and LiFePO4 batteries while preventing overcharge with temperature‑adaptive control.

Built to be a complete battery care solution, the GENIUS5 combines charging, maintenance, desulfation and temperature compensation in a smaller, more powerful package than previous models. It supports a wide range of battery chemistries and vehicle types, can revive deeply discharged batteries, and is designed for indefinite connection so batteries stay ready without risk of overcharging.

How does the GENIUS5 handle different battery types and voltages?

The GENIUS5 automatically adjusts to either 6‑volt or 12‑volt systems and is compatible with multiple battery chemistries, including flooded, AGM, gel, sealed lead‑acid, deep‑cycle and lithium‑iron‑phosphate (LiFePO4). Its smart microprocessor selects the proper charging profile to safely restore and maintain each battery type.

• Works with 6V and 12V batteries up to ~120 Ah capacity
• Supports lead‑acid variants (AGM, gel, flooded) and LiFePO4
• Automatic detection of voltage and appropriate charging algorithm
• Safe for automotive, powersport, lawn & garden, marine and specialty batteries

Can it revive dead or sulfated batteries?

Yes — the GENIUS5 includes precision pulse charging and a Force Mode to recover deeply discharged batteries. Pulse charging helps reverse sulfation and acid stratification while Force Mode enables manual recovery attempts on batteries with extremely low or zero voltage.

• Charges batteries down to 1 volt; Force Mode can target batteries at 0 volts
• Pulse desulfation helps improve capacity and extend battery life
• Monitoring circuitry reduces risk during revival attempts

How does temperature compensation and long‑term maintenance work?

An integrated thermal sensor adjusts charge rates based on ambient temperature, preventing overcharging in heat and undercharging in cold. The charger’s smart monitoring lets you leave batteries connected indefinitely for worry‑free maintenance without damaging them.

• Thermal sensor tailors charging voltage to current temperature
• Auto‑maintenance mode keeps batteries at optimal charge safely
• Designed for long‑term connection during storage or off‑season

What accessories and protections are included?

The GENIUS5 ships with a complete set of cables and mounting hardware so it’s ready to install and use. Built‑in safety features protect against reverse polarity, short circuits, and overcharging for reliable daily use.

• Includes 72‑inch AC cable, 80‑inch DC cable with clamps, eyelet terminals and mounting bracket
• Comprehensive protections: reverse polarity, short‑circuit, overcharge
• Three‑year warranty and USA design

Who is this for: The NOCO GENIUS5 is ideal for vehicle owners, powersports enthusiasts, and anyone who stores equipment seasonally and needs a compact, intelligent solution to keep batteries healthy. It’s a practical tool for garages, workshops, boaters, RV owners and lawn‑care professionals who want reliable charging, safe long‑term maintenance, and the ability to recover neglected or deeply discharged batteries without complicated setup.
