Pat Your Pet Dual-Sided Deshedding Dog & Cat Brush — 9-tooth Dematting + 17-tooth Deshedding, Rounded Tips

Keep your home cleaner and your pet more comfortable with a grooming tool built for both dematting and deshedding. This compact comb combines a 9-tooth side for stubborn mats and a 17-tooth side for thinning and removing loose hair, plus a non-slip handle for steady use. Rounded teeth tips and smoothly sharpened blades work together to tackle tangles while minimizing discomfort, making it suitable for many coat types and breeds.

How does this brush handle tough mats and knots?

The 9-tooth side is designed to penetrate deeper tangles and gently cut through compacted mats so you don’t have to pull painfully on the coat. Its slightly sharpened blades glide through dense fur, loosening clumps while the rounded tips protect skin. Use short, careful strokes and hold the base of the hair to avoid tugging on the skin.

• 9-tooth side for breaking up tight mats
• Slightly sharpened blades for efficient mat removal
• Rounded tips to prevent scratching or pinching
• Non-slip handle for controlled, safe brushing

Will it reduce seasonal shedding and undercoat build-up?

The 17-tooth side is crafted to remove loose hair from the undercoat and thin dense fur, lowering the amount of hair that ends up on floors and furniture. Regular use helps manage shedding cycles without over-stripping the topcoat. It’s effective on medium to long coats and works on shorter coats too when used gently.

• 17-tooth side for deshedding and coat thinning
• Targets loose undercoat before it becomes household hair
• Use weekly or during peak-shed periods for best results
• Suitable for long, medium, and many short coats

Is the brush safe and comfortable for pets with sensitive skin?

This grooming tool was made with pet comfort in mind: the teeth ends are rounded to avoid scratching, and the cutting edges are calibrated to remove mats without pulling. Many professional groomers recommend similar designs for safer, faster dematting. Still, always monitor your pet’s reaction and use lighter pressure on thin or inflamed skin.

• Rounded tooth ends to protect skin and reduce irritation
• Ergonomic grip to keep strokes steady and gentle
• Works progressively — take multiple passes instead of one hard pull
• Check skin frequently during grooming sessions

How do I use and maintain the Pat Your Pet dematting comb?

Start with the 17-tooth side for general deshedding, then switch to the 9-tooth side for stubborn tangles. Hold the base of the fur near the skin to minimize pulling and work in small sections from the outer coat inward. After grooming, wipe the teeth clean and store dry; occasional gentle cleaning with warm soapy water keeps blades working smoothly.

• Begin with the 17-tooth side, follow with the 9-tooth for mats
• Groom in sections, holding hair base to prevent discomfort
• Clean teeth with a cloth or mild soap and dry thoroughly
• Inspect for wear and replace if edges dull or teeth bend

Who is this for? Pet owners who want a single, durable grooming tool to manage both shedding and mats will find this brush useful. It’s intended for dogs and cats with medium to long coats, but can also be used gently on shorter coats and even other animals with dense fur. If you prefer at-home maintenance between professional grooming visits or need an effective tool to reduce household hair, the Pat Your Pet dual-sided deshedding brush is designed to make regular grooming easier and less stressful for both you and your companion.
