Philips AquaClean CA6903/10 espresso water filter — 1-pack Red, up to 5,000 cups, reduces limescale

Philips AquaClean Original filter keeps limescale formation down so many Philips espresso machines can go up to 5,000 cups before descaling is needed when used as recommended.

Designed for Philips and Saeco bean-to-cup machines, the AquaClean CA6903/10 reduces hardness minerals and traps impurities to preserve machine performance and coffee flavor. It combines a microporous physical filtration layer with ion-exchange chemistry to limit calcium buildup while allowing consistent water flow. Replacing the single filter at the interval indicated by your coffee machine helps maintain reliable extraction and reduces the frequency of manual descaling.

How does the AquaClean filter reduce limescale and protect my espresso machine?

The filter slows and limits calcium and other scale-forming minerals from reaching internal circuits, so deposits form much more slowly. Micro-porous media catches particulate matter while the ion-exchange component exchanges hardness ions for less scale-prone ions, reducing buildup in boilers and pipes.

• Micro-porous layer removes fine particles to prevent clogging.
• Ion-exchange reduces calcium to limit limescale formation.
• Maintains steady water flow for consistent brewing performance.

How long will one AquaClean filter last in my machine?

When you follow Philips’ recommended replacement schedule and use the filter continuously, a single AquaClean cartridge can support up to 5,000 espresso-sized servings before the machine signals a descale is required. Actual life depends on water hardness, daily usage patterns, and the types of beverages prepared.

• Rated for up to 5,000 cups under recommended conditions.
• Shorter life in very hard-water areas or heavy-use environments.
• Machine prompts or indicators advise timely replacement.

How do I install and replace the Philips AquaClean filter?

Installation uses a click-and-go design that’s quick and tool-free: open the water tank, insert the cartridge, prime according to the manual, and your machine recognizes the filter. Replacement is equally simple—remove the used cartridge and lock in a fresh one following the same steps.

• Tool-free click-and-go mounting for fast changes.
• Priming steps are in the machine’s user guide for correct recognition.
• Philips-certified filter ensures optimal compatibility and safety.
