The Rachio Weatherproof Outdoor Enclosure shields your Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller from rain, snow, wind and theft while allowing easy outdoor installation.

Keep your irrigation brain outdoors without worry: this robust enclosure is engineered to house Rachio 3 and second-generation controllers, offering a secure, weather-resistant housing that preserves functionality and appearance. With hardwiring and outdoor outlet options, an IP54 ingress protection rating, and a security tab for a padlock, it makes mounting a controller outside straightforward and safe.

How does the enclosure protect a sprinkler controller outdoors?

The enclosure creates a sealed barrier against common weather hazards so electronics stay dry and operational. It’s built with materials and seals designed to resist wind-driven rain and light snow while allowing ventilation to prevent overheating.

• IP54-rated protection against splashing water and dust ingress
• Gasketed seams and secure front cover to keep moisture out
• Durable exterior shell that stands up to outdoor elements

Can I lock the enclosure to prevent theft or tampering?

Yes — the case includes a security tab that accepts a standard padlock so you can deter casual theft and unauthorized access. The locking option gives extra peace of mind when the controller is mounted in a yard, driveway, or exposed equipment area.

• Integrated security tab for a padlock (lock not included)
• Recessed cover design reduces leverage points for tampering
• Fits discreetly on fences, walls or near meter boxes

Which Rachio controllers fit inside this outdoor box?

This housing was made specifically for the latest Rachio 3 lineup and is backward-compatible with second-generation controllers. The interior layout and mounting points align with those models so installation is fast and clean.

• Compatible with Rachio 3 and Generation 2 Smart Sprinkler Controllers
• Mounting holes and cable routing preplanned for those units
• Maintains the Rachio look with branded front styling

How easy is installation and what power options are available?

Installation is designed for a DIY-friendly experience and typically takes 30 minutes or less when paired with a Rachio controller. The enclosure supports both hardwired connections and the use of an outdoor outlet, so you can choose the electrical setup that matches your irrigation system.

• Fast DIY install — mounting hardware and clear positioning guides
• Routing for power and zone wires with dedicated cable access points
• Option for hardwiring or plugging into a weatherproof outdoor outlet

Who this enclosure is for: homeowners, landscapers, and property managers who want to position a Rachio Smart Sprinkler Controller outside without sacrificing protection or style. It’s ideal when indoor mounting isn’t practical, when equipment needs to be closer to valves or water meters, or when extra security is desired. If you own a Rachio 3 or a Generation 2 controller and need a reliable, branded outdoor housing, this enclosure simplifies installation while reducing exposure to the elements and tampering.
