simplehuman Rectangular Step Can 45.4 L — Brushed Stainless with Grey Lid, Liner Rim & Liner Pocket

The simplehuman 45L Rectangular Step Can is a space-saving, durable kitchen trash can that uses a liner rim and internal liner pocket for tidy disposal and one-handed refill access.

This kitchen step can combines a slim rectangular profile with a rim that grips the bag directly, eliminating a bulky inner bucket and freeing up more room for waste. Built to handle heavy use, it pairs a long-lasting steel pedal with Lid Shox® slow-close technology for quiet operation. An integrated liner pocket stores a supply of custom-fit bags inside the can so replacements are always within reach, and a complimentary odorsorb® pod helps reduce unwanted smells.

How does the liner rim system help save space and simplify bag changes?

The liner rim design secures the bag around the top edge of the can so there’s no inner bucket taking up volume. That means up to 25% more usable capacity and fewer awkward moments wrestling a full bin out of a liner.

• Stainless steel rim grips liners directly to hide loose edges.
• No inner bucket to lift or clean, cutting maintenance time.
• Smoother, faster bag swaps with less wasted capacity.

Will the pedal and lid stand up to everyday kitchen use?

Yes—simplehuman engineered a steel pedal tested for 150,000 steps so it endures years of regular use. The Lid Shox® motion control softens the lid’s movement so it closes slowly and quietly, protecting countertops and reducing kitchen noise.

• Heavy-duty steel pedal rated for extensive stepping cycles.
• Patented Lid Shox® provides consistent, silent closing action.
• Lid can stay open hands-free for tasks like prep or cleaning.

What convenience does the liner pocket and Code M liner provide?

The built-in liner pocket stores up to a 20-pack of Code M custom-fit liners inside the can and dispenses them one at a time. Using bags tailored to the can prevents bunching and slipping, keeping the interior neater and reducing the chance of leaks.

• Internal dispenser holds and releases liners for quick replacement.
• Code M liners are double-seamed and extra-thick for durability.
• Custom fit prevents overhang and bag movement during use.

Does the finish and included odorsorb pod reduce maintenance and odors?

The can’s brushed stainless exterior resists fingerprints and water marks, making surface cleaning easier while keeping a modern look. Included is an odorsorb® pod that helps neutralize trash smells for weeks, reducing the need for frequent deodorizing products.

• Brushed stainless resists smudges for a clean appearance.
• Complimentary odorsorb® pod helps control smells for about 45 days.
• Removable components simplify occasional deep cleaning.
