Compostic Compostable Bin Bags 49.2 L (50 Count) — Extra-Strong, Home-Compostable Kitchen Liners

Compostic 13-gallon compostable trash bags are plant-based, extra-strong kitchen liners that break down in home compost within weeks and contain no toxic additives.

These 23 x 28 in tall kitchen bags are designed to replace single-use plastic liners with a fully home-compostable option that still performs for everyday household waste. Compostic engineered this 50-count starter pack to be thicker than many compostable alternatives so you get tear resistance and confidence when carrying food scraps, coffee grounds, and other kitchen refuse to your compost bin or curbside pickup. The product is unscented, certified non-toxic, and packaged using eco-aware materials.

How sturdy are these bags for regular kitchen use?

Compostic bags are made with reinforced plant-based biopolymers so they resist punctures and tears better than thin compostable liners. They’re sized to fit standard 13-gallon tall cans and built to hold typical household waste without leaking or splitting during handling.

• Thicker film for puncture resistance
• Secure seams to prevent leaks
• Sized 23 x 28 inches for tall kitchen bins
• Unscented and BPA/GMO-free materials

Will these bags actually decompose in a home compost pile?

Yes — the material is formulated from plant-based biopolymers that DIN CERTCO certifies as home compostable. Under normal home compost conditions, the bags typically break down within 12 to 24 weeks, returning to the cycle without leaving microplastics behind.

• Certified home-compostable by DIN CERTCO
• Decomposes in typical backyard compost timelines
• No petroleum-derived plastics to persist in soil
• Breakdown depends on compost temperature and aeration

Are these bags safe for homes with kids and pets?

Compostic emphasizes non-toxic composition: the bags contain no BPA, no chlorine bleach, and no artificial fragrances. Being unscented and free of common harmful additives makes them a safer choice around households with children and animals, while still meeting performance needs.

• BPA-free and GMO-free ingredients
• No added fragrances or dyes
• Manufactured without petroleum-based plastics
• Suitable for typical household waste including food scraps

Who is this for? If you want a trash liner that balances real-world strength with a clear end-of-life plan, Compostic’s 13-gallon starter pack is made for eco-conscious households that generate kitchen scraps and want to reduce plastic waste without sacrificing durability. It suits families, apartment dwellers, and anyone starting to transition to a low-plastic lifestyle — especially people who compost at home or use municipal compost services. For those who need larger industrial-strength liners or fully waterproof commercial bags, consider different product types; for everyday kitchen use and backyard composting, these bags aim to be a reliable, planet-friendly choice.
