Glad 4.54 L Small Bin — Round Stainless Steel Step Bin with Soft-Close Lid and Removable Inner Bucket

The Glad 1.2-gallon small trash can is a compact, stainless-steel step bin with a soft-close, fingerprint-resistant lid and a removable inner bucket for easy emptying.

Designed for tight spaces, this round metal wastebasket blends durable construction with quiet, hands-free operation. Its brushed stainless finish keeps the look tidy while the soft-close mechanism prevents loud clanks. Measuring 8 x 9.5 x 12 inches, the bin fits conveniently beside sinks, desks, and in dorm rooms without taking up valuable floor area.

How does the soft-close lid improve daily use?

The soft-close lid slows and buffers the lid’s motion, eliminating abrupt slams and reducing noise in small living areas. It offers a controlled, smooth close whether you press the foot pedal or lower the lid by hand.

• Quiet operation for bedrooms, bathrooms, and home offices
• Reduced wear on the hinge for longer lifespan
• Gentle motion helps contain odors compared with open bins

Can I use this bin hands-free and how reliable is the pedal?

Yes — the built-in step pedal lets you open the lid without touching the top, which is practical when your hands are full. The pedal is robustly built for frequent use and works smoothly with the soft-close mechanism.

• Sturdy metal pedal for dependable hands-free opening
• Non-slip base helps keep the bin stable during use
• Pedal action pairs with the lid for consistent performance

What makes the removable inner bucket useful?

The plastic inner bucket lifts out so you can empty waste quickly and wipe the interior clean without moving the whole can. A metal carry handle on the bucket simplifies transport to larger trash containers or recycling bins.

• Removable pail for fast, mess-free emptying
• Smooth interior surface for easier cleaning
• Bucket compatible with common small trash bag sizes

Will this trash can fit in small spaces and match my decor?

At just over a foot tall and under 10 inches deep, this Glad bin is sized for compact areas like under sinks, beside toilets, or next to desks. The brushed stainless-steel finish resists fingerprints and integrates with modern, minimal, or industrial interiors.

• Compact footprint fits narrow or crowded rooms
• Brushed stainless steel hides smudges and wipes clean
• Neutral finish complements most color schemes
